How It Works

The integration connects your Wix store directly to Quaderno's powerful tax engine. Here’s the simple version of what happens during checkout:

1.  A customer enters their shipping address in your Wix store's checkout.

2.  Wix securely sends the cart details (products, address, etc.) to our tax calculation service.

3.  Our service uses your Quaderno account to find the correct tax rate for that specific location and product type.

4.  The correct tax amount is instantly returned and displayed to the customer in their checkout summary.

5.  The customer completes the purchase with the final, accurate price. This entire process is automatic and happens in the background in seconds.

2. Configure Tax Settings in Wix

Next, you need to tell Wix to use our app for tax calculations.

1.  **Go to Wix Tax Settings**: In your Wix Dashboard, navigate to Settings → Tax.

2.  **Add or Edit a Tax Region**:

    *   Click "Add Country" or select an existing region to edit.

    *   Choose the countries or states where you need to collect sales tax.

3.  **Select the Calculation Method**:

    *   In the "How much do you collect?" section, click the dropdown menu.

3. Set Up Tax Rates in Quaderno

Finally, make sure your Quaderno account is configured to calculate taxes correctly for your business.

1.  **Log in to your Quaderno account**.

2.  Navigate to Settings → Tax Rates.

3.  **Configure Tax Jurisdictions**: Ensure you have set up all the jurisdictions (countries, states, provinces) where you have a legal obligation to collect tax (this is often called "nexus").

4.  **Review Product Categories**: Check that your products are categorized correctly in Quaderno (e.g., physical goods, digital services, shipping), as tax rules can vary between them.

4. How to Test the Integration

After setup, it's a good idea to run a quick test to ensure everything is working perfectly.

1.  **Add a Product to Your Cart**: Go to your live Wix store and add any product to the cart.

2.  **Proceed to Checkout**.

3.  **Enter a Shipping Address**: Use an address from one of the regions you configured in Step 2. For example, if you set up tax collection for California, use a California address.

4.  **Check for Tax**: The tax amount should appear automatically in the order summary after the address is entered.

5.  **Verify the Amount**: You can cross-reference the tax amount with the rates you have set in your Quaderno account to confirm it is correct.

If the tax appears as expected, your setup is complete!

5. Troubleshooting Common Issues

If you run into any problems, here are the most common solutions.

**Issue: Tax is not appearing in checkout.**

*   How to Fix:

    1.  Check Wix Tax Settings: Go to Settings → Tax in Wix and confirm that "Quaderno Tax Calculator" is selected for the correct region.

    2.  Check App Connection: Open the Quaderno Tax app in Wix and ensure the status is "Connected". If not, test and save your credentials again.

**Issue: The tax rate seems incorrect.**

*   How to Fix:

    1.  Verify Quaderno Settings: Log in to your Quaderno account and double-check that your tax rates and jurisdictions are configured correctly.

    2.  Check the Address: Ensure the customer's shipping address is complete and accurate, as tax calculations depend heavily on it.
